Power transformer?¡¥s work is primarily to check the accuracy of voltage and the electric device?¡¥s insulation performance. It?¡¥s necessary to understand the power transformer?¡¥s power, load ratio, calorific value, etc. the following two parameters can be used to test the quality of a power transformer.
- Testing no-load current of the power transformer
Power transformer?¡¥s no-load current refers to that current under such situation that there is rated voltage in the primary winding and the no- load in the secondary winding. No-load current also means to the power transformer iron core?¡¥s loss. So less no-load current of the power transformer, better quality of the iron key has. More iron loss of the power transformer, calorific value will be much more. The general toroidal power transformer?¡¥s no-load current should be lower than the general transformer.
- Examine copper loss of a power transformer.
The copper loss of a power transformer is made by a direct resistance through a primary and secondary windings. Therefore, measuring a copper loss could be just done by adding rated current in a power transformer and getting 12R.
The less of a short and open loss, a better of a quality of a power transformer has. Less copper loss as well suggests low rising temperature and excellent loading rate.
